Dental Emergencies

Check-Ups and Cleaning
Regular checkups and professional hygiene cleanings at least twice a year help us achieve two important goals: catching and treating small dental issues early and preventing problems from developing in the first place.

Nightguards
Nighttime tooth grinding, or bruxism, can be caused by stress, anxiety, or sleep apnea. During your dental exam, Dr. Carlson will check for signs of wear and ask about snoring or daytime sleepiness. If sleep apnea is suspected, a sleep study may be recommended.
If bruxism is the issue, a custom nightguard can protect your teeth while you sleep, helping prevent further damage and keeping your teeth safe!
Fluoride Treatment
Some people prefer to avoid fluoride, and we certainly respect that choice. We do use fluoride for those with no preference because we’ve seen the benefit of regular topical exposure to it.
To give our patients even more cavity protection between appointments, we can apply a prescription-strength fluoride solution to their teeth during routine checkups. The treatment is fast, painless, and one of the simplest ways to keep a smile healthy year after year. The choice of fluoride use is always yours, as every patient interaction is tailored to your comfort level.
