DentaPen

DentaPen is a computer controlled local anesthesia device. It has been tested ON dentists, and 96% of those tested reported it to create much less sensitivity during the numbing process

Digital Impressions

Digital Impressions (also known as 3-D intraoral scanning) are the latest technology in capturing a replica of the mouth. By using a wand-like tool connected to a computer and advanced software, a dentist can create a virtual model of the hard and soft tissues in the mouth.

These replicas are more accurate than a mold, and can be used for a variety of needs. After taking a scan of the mouth, a dentist can immediately send the digital impression to a lab where dentures, crowns, bridges, and retainers can be made quickly and accurately

Jaw Joint Therapy

The temporomandibular (TMJ) joint, is an often overlooked but very important part of your oral health. It’s the name for the joint that enables your jaw to move in all directions, giving you the ability to eat, speak, laugh, and yawn.

Like other joints in the body, it can sometimes develop problems due to strain, stress, injury, or arthritis, which can lead to a stiff, painful jaw and even chronic headaches!

At Carlson Dental Group, we’re able to diagnose and treat many of these kinds of issues right in our office. We can help our patients get the jaw joint care they need - often without having to visit an outside specialist

Disordered Breathing and Sleep Apnea Treatment

Did you know that sleep apnea is a breathing disorder that affects over 20 million Americans each and every night? It can cause people stop breathing during the night and constantly feel exhausted during the day no matter how much they sleep.

If you believe that you might be dealing with sleep apnea, or if you already have a diagnosis, our dentists can help you start getting the rest you deserve using a small, custom-made oral appliance you’ll only need to wear to bed.

This treatment is reliable, comfortable, and supported by years of research, and it may be exactly what you need to start feeling great in the morning again. For more information on the risks of untreated sleep apnea, please click here.

Intraoral Cameras and Carivu

Our intraoral cameras and new Carivu tool will literally give you a whole new perspective on your smile! These small, pen-sized cameras fit comfortably in the mouth and can capture high-resolution images of the teeth and gums we can instantly show you what we see on a nearby monitor.

The Carivu is also pen-sized and is a non-ionizing device that uses transilluminating light to show us, and you, a clear view of cracks and cavities on teeth. While the Carivu doesn’t replace x-rays, it is safe to use when x-rays aren’t an option such as for small children, pregnant women and people with severe gag reflexes.

They’ll make it much easier for you to understand what the doctor is talking about, and help you make more informed and confident decisions about your dental care

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays are not only great for our team and our patients but the environment as well. Compared to traditional, film-based X-rays, they can create images in much less time, they don’t require toxic darkroom chemicals to be developed, and they even emit up to 80% less radiation making them the safest option for acquiring dental radiographs!

Plus, because the images are completely digital, we can rotate, enlarge, and even color code them so patients can go over them with their dentist and easily understand what they are seeing

3-D Imaging

Complete diagnosis begins with getting all of the information so we can see the big picture! With the large pictures available from our two-dimensional Panoramic x-ray and 3-D cone beam imaging machine we can see that big picture.

This allows us to evaluate all aspects of your teeth, jaw joints, airway and even see details as fine as a cracked root in certain circumstances. Knowledge is power, and with it we can diagnose and plan for treatment of whatever needs you may have - from root canals and wisdom tooth removal to implant tooth replacement and even treatment of disordered sleep breathing

Digital Impressioning Scanner

We use dental impressions to help us design a wide array of treatments, ranging from crowns to Invisalign to porcelain veneers and beyond. In the past, a patient would have to bite down into messy and odd-tasting dental putty to create a physical model of their teeth, but now, that process has been completely digitized.

Using our CareStream digital impression system, we only need to scan the teeth with a small sensor to generate a highly-detailed 3-D image of your mouth that we can manipulate in the computer. This process is not only more comfortable than the traditional putty, but it is often a faster process and can provide a better quality impression as well!
