Take Advantage of Today's Technology
We use a variety of technologies to provide higher-quality care in less time. These tools also keep you comfortable in the dentist's chair!
These are the cutting-edge tools we use to serve you best:
Digital Impressions
Previously, dental impressions required patients to bite into messy, unpleasant “goop,” as our patients lovingly recall calling it. Now, with the iTero digital impression system, we use a wand-like digital camera to create detailed 3-D images of your mouth to show you and our dental labs precise views of your mouth! This modern, comfortable process is faster, more accurate, and provides a better quality impression than traditional “goop-y” methods.
SOLEA CO2 Dental Laser
Do you HATE being numb and the vibration and noise of the traditional dental drill? The SOLEA laser may be the best thing for you since sliced bread! Many cavities can be removed using laser energy without the need for anesthetic - isn’t that amazing?! Check out their website to learn more and feel welcome to ask if it is the right option for you:

Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays provide faster results, emit up to 80% less radiation than “old school” film X-rays, and allow for fast, easy viewing, enlargement, and color-coding of images to help all of us better understand your dental situation.
3D Imaging
With our 2D panoramic X-ray and 3D cone beam (CBCT) imaging, we can evaluate your teeth, jaws, TMJ joint, and even your sinuses and airway in detail. This technology, often utilizing our partnership with a local radiologist, enables accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for a wide range of dental needs.
Intraoral Cameras
Our pen-sized intraoral cameras capture high-resolution images of your teeth and gums, allowing us to instantly show you what we see on a nearby monitor for a whole new perspective on your smile.
Carivu
This is a pen-sized, non-ionizing device that uses transilluminating light to easily reveal cracks and even cavities in many instances. It is an excellent option when X-rays aren’t suitable, such as for children, pregnant women, or those with a severe gag reflex.
Jaw Joint Therapy and Therapeutic Appliances
The temporomandibular (TMJ) joint, essential for jaw movement, can develop problems due to strain, stress, injury, or arthritis, leading to pain and headaches. We can diagnose and treat many of these issues in-office, often without the need for a specialist.
Disordered Breathing and Sleep Apnea Treatments
If you suffer from sleep apnea and constant daytime exhaustion and have had NO luck using a CPAP, Dr. Carlson can help with a small, custom-made oral appliance that promotes better sleep by allowing the body to breathe easier. This appliance, worn only at night, offers a reliable, comfortable, and research-supported solution to help you wake up feeling more refreshed.
